How to arrive to Vantaa: 

Vantaa is part of the Helsinki metropolitan area and is easy to reach. Helsinki-Vantaa Airport (HEL) is located in Vantaa, making arrival very convenient. Trains I and P run frequently between the airport and the Helsinki region. There are also several bus lines available.

  • The trains run between the airport and Helsinki city center every 10 minutes Monday to Saturday and every 15 minutes on Sundays. At quiet times, the trains run less frequently, with headways of up to 30 minutes.
  • The I train takes about 27 minutes to reach the Helsinki city center
  • The P train takes about 32 minutes.

Shuttle Bus

The distance between the competition venue and the official hotel is about 12 kilometers. We highly recommend booking the shuttle bus beforehand and avoiding any confusions with the transport. 

Shuttle Bus Pass (35€) gives you unlimited rides throughout the event days and to the after party, according to the shuttle bus timetable. We recommend arriving early to the meeting point.

You can buy your Shuttle Bus Pass from Suomisport-website when registering as an athlete or coach.

Travel by car

Vantaan Energia Areena is easily accessible by car. Parking areas are available free of charge for the entire duration of the event (on regular occasions parking is limited to four hours, but together with the venue we’ve agreed that parking will be free for the entire event).

 Travel by Public Transport

HSL stands for Helsinki Region Transport. It operates the local: Commuter trains, buses, trams, metro and some ferries. The same ticket can be used on all types of transport during its validity period, look for the HSL logo when choosing public transport.

How to buy a ticket: The easiest option for visitors is to buy a ticket in the HSL mobile app, where you can plan your route by selecting starting point and destination, and the Journey Planner will tell you which ticket you need. Make sure you buy the ticket before boarding the train or bus.

You can also pay for an adult single ticket by contactless Visa or Mastercard at an HSL card reader. Select the required zones first, then tap your card.

Which ticket do I need for public transportation? When you arrive in Finland, you are most likely arriving to Helsinki-Vantaa airport which is in zone C. Competition venue is located in Myyrmäki, which is in zone B. To get from the airport to Myyrmäki you need a BC ticket. Depending on where you are staying you may need to purchase ABC or AB ticket to get to the competition venue from your accomodation. Remember, that HSL requires a ticket covering all zones you travel through. 

How to get to the competition venue? The competition venue, Vantaan Energia Areena, is located at Rajatorpantie 23, 01600 Vantaa, in the Myyrmäki Sports Park.

With a train: Nearest train station Myyrmäki is located 1,5 kilometers (approx. 1.1 km walk) away from the the competition venue. Getting to the venue from Tikkurila, take the train I or from Helsinki take the train P. 

With a bus: Buses 37, 520 or 530 from the train station take you towards arena. Closest bus stops are on Rajatorpantie, very close to the sports park and arena (30 metre walk). If you are staying at Break Sokos Hotel Flamingo you may take buses 571, 574 and 583. We recommend you use the HSL Journey Planner, because bus routes and departure times can change.
